Natural Leaders in Western Palearctic

The Caucasus is a fascinating region. It offers a huge diversity of habitats from steppes through different elevation zones up to the snowy peaks of the mountains. Spring is obviously the best for finding the Caucasian endemics which are ranging from the small Caucasian Chiffchaff, Güldenstadt's Redstart and  Great Rosefinch till Caucasian Black Grouse and Caucasian Snowcock. This is also the time when the panoramic slopes are covered by carpets of  wildflowers and Rhododendron bushes.

Autumn/Fall offers World Famous Raptor Migration watching possibilities with a good number of Booted , Short-toed and Lesser Spotted Eagles, Levant Sparrowhawks,  Honey Buzzards, Black Kites, Montagu's, Marsh and Pallid Harriers, but even Crested Honey Buzzard is possible.

If you are interested in history and culture you will be not disappointed, Georgia, Azerbaijan and Armenia all have ancient background.

Georgia
Imagine a small country with an incredible wide variety of fantastic landscapes ranging from steppes through lakes & marshes till beautiful valleys up to impressive mountain ranges covered with carpets of millions of stunning wildflowers. What is more this area is full with superb bird-watching possibilities, including many rarities and even local endemic species. Despite the fact that the Greater Caucasus is much higher than the European Alps with a good timing and careful selection of visited areas we always search and find birds without strenuous hikes.
